Portrait Session in Dundee
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Dr Calum Rankin, a clinical psychologist, in his Dundee office. Like many people, he admitted to feeling a little nervous at first – standing in front of the camera can feel daunting. But as we talked and settled into the session, those nerves quickly disappeared. By the end, he was completely at ease and his confidence really shone through in the portraits.
In Dr Rankin’s line of work, it feels especially important for people to see who they’ll be meeting. A portrait helps potential clients feel more familiar and reassured before they even step through the door, offering a sense of connection and approachability right from the start.
Whenever I work in Dundee, I make a point of stopping by my favourite café afterwards, Empire State Coffee on Whitehall Crescent – flat white with a sourdough Danish (served warm!) is my small ritual to celebrate the joy I get from doing this work. Needless to say- I am looking for more clients in Dundee :)
