I live in Dalgety Bay, Fife, Scotland and I photograph families accross Fife

These days I work mostly as a branding and headshot photographer, but I am also available for new baby and family photography shoots. I am a mum to two teenagers and so I do know how fast the time goes by. A handful of beautiful photographs from different stages of our family life can become our most prized possessions.

No, I choose not to keep a studio. I prefer photographing my clients in locations that are natural. Fife is stunning: from beaches, hills to big open fields and forests, we are completely spoilt for choice of backdrops. I also prefer to photograph new babies in their homes, for the easiest experience possible.

Overcast skies offer the most flattering light, sunny sunsets are completely magical. If it happens to be very windy or rainy, then we reschedule (I would usually book a backup date with you anyway).

We will plan this together, but here are few main points:
You must feel comfortable to look comfortable.
Mum-allways take a short video, using your mobile phone, to see how your clothes look on your body. Do not trust the mirror, as our mind has a way of making us look the way we want to. Do a little catwalk to see yourself from an objective point of view.
Bear in mind the location of our shoot, make sure your footwear is suitable
Treat the outfits of all family as if it is one big outfit- put all pieces on the bed and make sure nothing clashes
Avoid Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank, Football team logos, and all big logos in general. It ages your photographs and steals attention away from your faces.
Wearing oversized pieces in black to hide any extra weight you may carry , most often results in your body looking heavier than it is. We can’t see the details in the black fabric and it creates more volume, than slightly fitted pieces would.

Whether you decide to book a professional makeup artist or do it yourself, keep your makeup matte for a natural light photoshoot. Avoid contouring, which might look great straight on, but is likely to be very prominent from side angles. Don’t get too adventurous with new colours that you haven’t worn before, you might be uncomfortable and worried about results.
I’m Karolina
and I live an (un)busy life in Fife, Scotland, UK with my husband, 2 children and our big baby dog.
Photography is not just my job. It is my passion, my love, my joy!
I was born in Poland, but Scotland has been my home for nearly 20 years and I am still blown away by the beauty of it every day.
I have been a professional photographer of people, brands and nature for 13 years now. Before that, I was using my degree in biology and worked in various laboratories.
It would be a lovely surprise and a big pleasure to hear from you if you need new photographs. My email is: thebrandphotographer.co.uk@gmail.com
